Where this list comes from
The Electoral Commission's results feed. This is the Commission's own table of the voting places that will report a result on election night, with the addresses and coordinates it publishes, refreshed from the feed every day. As at 26 October 2026 it lists 2,686 places; 161 of them are mobile teams that visit hospitals, rest homes and prisons, with no public address, and are not shown.
Which ballot papers a place holds. A voting place issues ordinary ballot papers for its own electorate and, near a boundary, for the neighbouring ones. That list comes from the Commission's result files: there is one for every electorate a place counts votes for. Vote somewhere that does not hold your electorate's papers and you cast a special vote, which is counted after election night.
Days, hours and accessibility come from vote.nz's own voting-place map, matched to the Commission's list by location and name, and each card links to that place's page on the vote.nz map for directions. Hours can change at short notice; the vote.nz page is the one to trust on the day. Distances are straight lines from your location, not road distances. Nothing you type or share leaves your browser: the search and the distances run on this page, and your location is never sent to this site.
Election night. From 7pm on 7 November the same list of places lights up as each one reports, on the live count page.
